Lovely work Selina!
A special tree
Six-year-old Rakesh plants a cherry seed in his grandfather's garden in Mussoorie and nurtures it through several threats, including being eaten by a goat and cut in two by a scythe. Over the years, the resilient tree overcomes harsh Himalayan winters to grow tall, bloom with pink flowers, and attract birds and bees. Sitting under its shade years later, Rakesh and his grandfather cherish the tree as deeply special because they grew it themselves from a single seed.
